The forest you find yourself in is dark and silent, besides the occasional cries of nocturnal creatures. You watch your step as you make it through the dense undergrowth. Something catches your eye — a gold feather. Curious, you pick it up and examine it carefully.

The dim moonlight barely seeps through the forest canopy, yet the feather glimmers as you turn it over in your hand, almost like it’s glowing. It’s too large to belong to any bird from these lands. You’re instilled with an odd combination of unease and awe. The feather awakens an almost forgotten, child-like wonder within you. You get an inexplicable urge to set off deeper into the forest to find the creature that could have left it behind. You raise your eyes and see a winding path that wasn’t there before.
You decide to look out for more of these feathers as you step into the unknown, hoping they will reveal something about the strange creature.
…Or, perhaps, some mysteries are better left unsolved, and you choose to return home.
